All I can say is wow!!! I was totally blown away with my experience with Scott and Restrained Whimsey. Two of our best friends just became new dads, so we wanted to get a thoughtful, personalized gift... But we also wanted to stay safe during quarantine. I turned to the internet and found Restrained Whimsy. We were very impressed that it was a locally owned business, very gay couple friendly, and also had gifts for a multi-racial family. Who knew we could find all that in a single place! Scott quickly responded to the curated gift box inquiry, asked a few questions, and came up with several delightful options! And the gift box was delivered in person that same evening! My friends and their baby loved the gift box. I will definitely turn to Scott and Restrained Whimsy again, and highly recommend the shop, even when you don't actually shop inside the store!

I cannot say enough how wonderful the store is! They have such a wonderful selection of gifts and Scott one of the owners along with Brian, well he is just amazing! Everytime he helps me pull great gift ideas together, and to top it off he also wraps them so beautifully that the person that is receiving the gift is made to feel special.

Came in to buy a last minute birthday card and was stunned at the nice array of gifts at this store. A wonderfully curated collection of beautiful gifts. Some of my favorite things were artisan glass magnets (the design inside the glass was like psychedelic version of marbled Italian paper); a very attractive solid red tea mug that is quite big, like a little pot, that is great for brewing loose leaf tea and drinking straight away! Also impressed with the collection of organic olive oils from Ojai! Some are infused with herbs.. I was in a time crunch unfortunately and was in and out quickly but am impressed with the store and want to go back , particularly for the infused olive oils .. and to discover all the other hidden treasure at this store! During the pandemic let’s support our small family stores.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this store! I had not been in the store since it changed hands last year, but WHAT a difference! As sweet as the other store was, this place is pure class! I went in looking for a simple birthday card and found a card that FAR exceeded my expectations! It's beyond perfect for the person that I will be sending it to. The owner is not only charming, but very knowledgable and spent so much time telling me about the store and showing me some things that I found fascinating. I will absolutely be putting this lovely boutique shop at the top of my list when I want to buy a special gift. It's just a bonus that it's close to home and near my favorite grocery store!. My sister just had her baby a month and a half early. It’s chaotic, it’s the holidays, yet I wanted to have a gift for this unexpectedly premature baby but with everything going on it was super stressful and the one thing I don’t have is time to go deal with holiday shopper-packed parking lots during a pandemic. So I ordered a toy online from this place figuring I could pick it up and save some time, but they called and offered to deliver it. Brought it to my door in a cute bag with pink tissue paper. It’s perfect. I could cry. I’m so stressed with everything going on and this shop just delivered this perfect little gift in a perfect bag and I’m thrilled. Thank you. Phenomenal quality and service from start to finish!!

Scott helped me through my order when I called (in a restrained panic. Lol) an online order when I had forgotten to send my twin niece and nephew a special Sweet Sixteen gift.
RW had the cutest things, at an affordable price, for BOTH genders, wrapped beautifully!! They loved everything!

The absolute best thing is that they delivered On the SAME day! To an area that wasn’t super close to them. And I SO appreciated.

I don't live in Los Angeles and had an emergency delivery that had a deadline. I call Restrained Whimsy on a Sunday afternoon, I spoke with Scott explaining my problem. The gifts needed to be delivered no later than the next day. He went above and beyond to a degree I have seldom experienced. Not only, did he create an excellent selection of gifts but he stayed late on a Sunday evening completing the order and delivered it himself. And, if that's not enough he texted me a picture of the delivery at the front door or my dearest life long friend. Thank you Scott and Restrained Whimsy....you are great.
